Background

Brazilian indie developer Wingeon set out to self-publish their free-to-play open-world fantasy RPG, Drakantos. With only a community manager on their small team, Wingeon needed help with every aspect of publishing and marketing to bring their ambitious game to life.

Bastion G2M got to work by creating a detailed go-to-market plan specifically tailored to Wingeon's needs. This involved developing a strategic roadmap, profiling the target audience, crafting compelling messaging, and analysing the competitive landscape. Bastion also provided crucial advice on timings, budgets, and managing the Steam platform to ensure a smooth and effective launch.

To build and engage a community, Bastion offered strategies for community-building and designed the ‘Coming Soon!’ Steam page. They handled all the metadata, links, and page design to fully leverage Steam's features and optimise for its algorithms.

Results
Bastion G2M's strategic planning and execution delivered impressive results for Wingeon. Within the first four months, Drakantos had already garnered a huge uplift in wishlists. After the Steam page launch, the game quickly soared to the No. 1 spot in the F2P to watch. The game's community grew rapidly, with 10,000 members joining the Discord server in the first three months. Additionally, the press announcement led to a tenfold increase in visits to the Steam page.
