In 2024, the League of Legends World Championship Finals landed in London for the very first time, taking over the iconic O2 Arena. Bastion was tasked with supporting this landmark moment — helping to tell the story of Worlds as both a cultural milestone and a celebration of games at the very highest level.
We needed to help Riot leverage the power of spectacle and community to reach far beyond the traditional games press. That meant securing visibility with top-tier non-endemic outlets, reaching audiences across the UK via mainstream TV and radio, and continuing to strengthen relationships with key endemic media.
To bring that vision to life, Bastion provided full media relations and on-site support, facilitating access for both games specialists and national press. Outlets on the ground included The Guardian, Daily Mirror, The Independent, PCGamesN, Dexerto, Dot Esports, and the Daily Mail. We also helped coordinate broadcast access for the BBC and Ranga Bee Productions, who were on-site capturing content for an upcoming Sky documentary.
